Week 4: Line
07:38LINE
Original Image:
In the above photo, I have arranged the tracing paper in the order I have traced it. However, I felt that there could be some experimentation with the different layers.
Over here, I have rearranged the different layers and has seen a better effect.
The Different Layers
- Details of the flowers with pencil
- Outline of the flowers with pen
- Shadow with pencil shadings and yellow highlighter
- Leaves with green marker and flowers with yellow highlighter
- Dark blue shadows
Observations/Thoughts:
The 2nd artwork is constructed with more details captured, as compared to the first one, where the end product feels too flat. Due to the thickness and translucency of the tracing paper, it creates the effect where the details on the tracing paper further to the back are blurred. Furthermore, the entire image feels to be behind frosted glass, similarly due to the material of the tracing paper.
In each image that was captured, there is a different meaning. In the first image, as the lines of the flowers are more prominent than the other details, it seems that the image was trying to convey the flowers are flowers. It shows that details are not as important as it seems to be. However, in the second image, the details that are drawn on the different layers, seems to convey that the focal point of the image is the detail of the flowers. It is as if the first image looks more at the outer beauty and the second image focuses on the inner beauty.
